Mr. Bigglesworth and His Family Need Your Help!

Late Sunday night, February 5th, "Mr. B," a five-year-old miniature donkey, was attacked by predators at his home in Milton. It is not known if the attackers were domestic dogs or wild animals. It is believed that there were several in the "pack," due to the damage they inflicted. Mr. B’s owners came out Monday morning to find their beloved family pet mangled and barely alive. They rushed him to their horse doctors, TNT Equine in Dover, NH for emergency care. Dr. Deme Erickson started by surgically removing the mangled remains of Mr. B’s tail, which was hanging by a small flap of skin. She then began the slow process of clipping, draining, disinfecting, and suturing the hundreds of tears and puncture wounds, which covered 80% of the little guy’s body. Mr. B was given IV fluids and antibiotics, but his system was severely shocked, and he remained in critical condition for the next three days.
Mr. B has a noble spirit and a brave attitude however, and has clung to life and begun to eat and drink again. His swollen eyes are beginning to take interest in his surroundings, and his large, expressive ears go forward to greet the caregivers coming and going from his stall. His return to health will be long, painful process, but it is believed that he will recover from his ordeal.

Obviously, Mr. B’s family has incurred huge medical bills to save him. Any help from the animal-loving community would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be sent to the Mr. B Fund, c/o TNT Equine, 17 Member’s Way, Dover, NH 03820. More info can be obtained by calling 603-749-4077.
